Rim manufacturers(does it matter?)
whats up people? I'm a new member to the site, so please have mercy. Anyway, I'm looking at new wheels for my ride and realized that most of the highend name brands have copy cat wheels that look identical(except for the name of course) I heard that sometimes wheel manufacturers make wheels for smaller companies, if thats the case than screw name brand. well if anyone knows about this stuff hit me up!

I'm going to assume you're referring to wheels such as Spoon, Mugen, Racing Hart, etc. In that case, the "name brand" wheels are not manufactured by the same company as the "look-alikes". Most of the expensive wheels are costly because of the method used to manufacture them (forging), whereas the less expensive "look-alikes" are usually cast. Forged wheels are normally lighter and relatively stronger than their cast counter-parts.
I personally wouldn't buy a look-alike wheel (e.g. Rota) because it looks like a Spoon or Racing Hart wheel, but I would, and did, buy the Rotas because they are lightweight and inexpensive.

Yeah rota did a damn good job, and whoever makes Konig wheels also makes Rotas.
