Is this right? Weight question.

Just going from the numbers in the book (Civic Service Manual) my 98' MT Civic Cx hatch's "Gross Vehicle Weight Rating" is 3,285lbs. Is that the weight of the car?

I was looking at the Honda website into a new 2004 Civic Hx coupe also 5spd. MT and the site said "Curb Weight": 2441lbs.

Now is GVWR not the same as Curb Weight? Because a difference of 844lbs is pretty damn huge. Pardon my noob-ness.

If you look at the stickers on the door jam it will have two weights. One will be rediculously low and one will be rediculously high. I'm guessing the number you found in the manual was the rediculously high one. I just looked around online to find the curb weight, which is the real weight.
