i dont think it will be serious, but do plan on fixing it. my clip broke and all the grease sprayed on my undercarage which was a bitch, but i just repacked the boot and bout a new strap for it, everything is good now.

Just go ahead and replace the whole axle. Easy and cheap to do. It will last for a while but sooner or later its gonna start thumping and then you'll have to replace it anyways.

does anyone know how much the cv boot will cost and where to get them? and do i have to take the axle off, or is there a place on the net that explains how to fix it ,so i don't have to go get a repair manual ,i know it would be good to have one but i'm low on cash right now

go to autozone, and ask for a "quickie boot".
it is 15 dollars if i remember correctly, and you can put it on without removing the axle. we put one on my friend's civic and it is still running strong.

I'm not trying to be the negative one here but, its the same case in everytime
The driver side boot had broken on my 92 integra, i drove the car for two years, like that with no problems what so ever, and took the car every where you can imagine day and night without any problems.
Howevere i had the same problem with my civic, and i had to get the new axle because the clicking kept getting worse

I remember when I was younger my dad would pack the boot full of grease and use duct tape as a temporary solution until he got a new boot.

haha join the club man.. this is my second cv joint to blow. I'm not even worried about it right now. It's been messed up since before christmas and I dunno if it is throwing grease around yet, but it would not supprise me. It keeps getting louder over time and is annoying as hell.. but i don't have another 185 to blow on my 3rd axle in 6 months..
I'm not worried about it so i don't think you should be.

Just go to autozone and replace the whole damn axle. Easy, cheap, and comes w/ a lifetime warranty. $60.

I agree, its really easy to change the whole axle and it will last a lot longer than the replacing the boot.
