Ride quality?
I have a 98 civic dx and I was looking to get H&R race springs and kyb agx shocks, and I was concered with the ride quality of this setup. Because I travel 40 miles on the interstate to school and wanted to keep a good ride. So if any of you could let me know about the quality of the ride, or give any suggestions that is in the same price range I would appreciate it.

typically springs are a lot smoother than coilovers as far as the ride is concerned...however with race springs you might experience some bumpiness if you're gonna drivin 40 miles to and from school. I'd recommend H&R sport springs for you, they reduce body roll by a fair amount while still providing a smooth ride...and KYB AGX shocks are perfect for that setup...hope this helps

Re: Ride quality? (BauleyCivic)
Thanks a lot.
Do you know how much the sport springs lower it?
Could anyone recomend any different springs with about 2 inch drop to go with kyb agx shocks for good ride quality?

May help or it may not but here are my last experiences with combinatins similar to yours........
I ran H&R race springs and Koni yellow struts on a (120 mile round trip) daily drive to and from work.....the ride was fine. I also installed H&R sport springs with KYB AGX struts on a friends Civic which I drove for awhile on my trips to work and back.....those yeild a good ride quality as well.
The race springs will lower your car more than the sports so I guess you really need to ask yourself how much lower would you like to hav eyour car ride?
Good luck
Personally I'd stick to H&R or Neuspeed springs for best bang for the buck. Eibachs are also nice but cost alittle more.

Re: Ride quality? (SLPR)
the more you lower your car, the stiffer the springs needs to be. The stiffer the springs the worse the ride quality.
So with that said, any good spring that lowers 2" may give you a ride that is rougher than you would like for your commute. If ride quality is a major concern then you may want to look at h&r sport springs or eibach pro-kit springs. Both lower about 1.5" and give a nice ride.
I'm on eibach pro-kits w/koni yellows (yeah, I know, overkill). Anyways, as long as I'm on good roads, the ride quality is excellent. However it goes downhill quick if I hit rough roads, but that is the case with any lowering spring.

Re: Ride quality? (kommon_sense)
Thanks for the help. But one more question.
Is there any other shocks for a similar price that would be of equal quality or any cheaper shocks that are of equal quality?
Edit: the H&R sports are rate Front 1.75 and rear 1.5 inches, do they sag anymore than that? or is that with a sag in mind?

Re: Ride quality? (1slowek)
the only shocks that I would recommend buying are koni yellows, bilstein and kyb agxs. KYBs are the least expensive, and would suite your needs well. However if you can swing it, go for the konis.
