Default Reverse lights stay on

Hello everyone! So I have a 96 civic coupe M/T and the reverse lights come on once i turn on my lights on the second position. I have tried unplugging the reverse light sensor on the trans, but lights stay on. They only come off if I turn off the lights. It started doing this recently, (that I noticed). I’m not sure if this might have anything to do with it but recently cut all the wires from the harness that goes to the door, and connected them one by one, because half of the wires came off the plug. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You need check the door wiring again and make sure they match up correctly.

do you think that the door wiring has anything to do with the reverse lights?
