Default Reverse lights dont work after auto to manual swap

the guy I bought my car from paid a shop to do the auto to manual swap on my car the only thing is they didn't take the time to wire up the reverse lights. I have searched for the last 3 hours tring to find a write up on it. I traced the wires from the switch on the trannie to the plug in the bay on the upper drivers side, but from their i cant find them inside. I need the lights for backing out my driveway at night. Any help would be greatly appreaceated

im not an expert or anything, but i do have the same thing on my car

i dont really think there is an easy way to do this, unless they changed out the whole wiring harness from an automatic to a manual, because they are VERY different

There's a simple wiring trick to get this to work...but Goddamnit I can't remember what it is for the life of me This is a common complaint on auto-to-manual swaps.

Doesnt matter what way they go they do the same. These are for your reverse lights. Connect some line to them and run it through the firewall to your reverse light switch. And your set.

so the only way to do it is to run new wires to the switch from the lights

No, those wires run to the plug on the tranny. There is one plug on the tranny, hook that up to the wires you see in the pictures and you'll have some reverse lights.

there IS another way.....
if you take the 2 wires off the tranny and trace them back to the ECU you should be able to cut the 2 wires back a couple inches from the ECU and connect one of them to ground. then take the other wire from the tranny and use it to activate a SPDT relay(typical 5 post relay). There should also be (i belive) a green/ white wire from the ecu as well....use the output off the relay to activate the green/white with 12 volts. Just make sure you use a circuit safe test light or the like for testing...if at all possible a digital multimeter. Basic test "lights" draw current and drop voltage.... you wouldn't want the airbags going off when you put it into reverse..Always double check your wiring

ok i got it. after many hours tracing wires i found what i was looking for. The way i hooked them up is under the dash behind the fuse box up in the top corner you see a silver plug and a brown plug attached to a white thingy. the wires you are looking for are yellow and a light blue/ greenish wire they are on the end of the plug to make sure you have the right one you can look at the corresponding plug the wires it plug into should be a yellow and a green with a black stripe splice some wire to them and run it under the dash to where the orig sensor was at (under shifter console) hook up the corresponding wires and wally you now have working reverse lights
