oh i know on the tranny there should be this black rubber thing. its on the very top if he doesn't have a pic i do i almost had the same probelm

Yeah that took way too long, it's #6 in the diagram.
I couldn't find an actual transmission picture for some reason (or at least not a good quality one).
Hope that helps, got stuff 2 do, later.
EDIT:
I almost forgot, if you do change it out, make sure you replace that little washer there (12).

I'd say your sensor is busted.
Mine's weird. Sometimes it doesn't work but if I rev the motor they will usually start to work. My car is so ghetto.

I say play with the sensor, take it out and do a simple wiring to a bulb, then if that works might want to consider running a new wire if you can't figure out where the break is. Lots of work for a reverse light, but if you want it that bad put in the work.

Or just get a new one and if that's not the problem put it back in the box and hold onto it. You can always sell it on the H-T market place as "used ONCE." for near what u paid for it .
