Shifting early is never bad, saves you gas and you get less tickets!! lol
I don't think I get your question, the red line is supposed to be the "top" of each gear, where you would shift if you were you know... racing? going somewhere fast and/or pissed off?

Yes you can shift at the higher rpm range, Honda put a red line and a fuel cut on it for a reason, so you don't cause damage to your motor. I don't suggest you red line a motor with high mileage tho.

High mileage alone doesnt justify shifting at red line as "bad". Plus, its a Honda, what qualifies for "high mileage" anyways?

I had 200k on mine before i rebuilt (for turbo), and took it to 6800-7k a few times a week, and it was fine. Also, it was a $250 junkyard motor too, haha.
