no... but do you have a reason why you want to shift early?

Shifting early is never bad, saves you gas and you get less tickets!! lol

I don't think I get your question, the red line is supposed to be the "top" of each gear, where you would shift if you were you know... racing? going somewhere fast and/or pissed off?

Haha, you're good man.

If it wasn't ok, then honda would have put a rev limiter before you got to 6000rpms

Yes you can shift at the higher rpm range, Honda put a red line and a fuel cut on it for a reason, so you don't cause damage to your motor. I don't suggest you red line a motor with high mileage tho.

High mileage alone doesnt justify shifting at red line as "bad". Plus, its a Honda, what qualifies for "high mileage" anyways?

It doesn't matter if it has high mileage, you can beat on it all day. Depends on how well maintained the engine and car is.

I had 200k on mine before i rebuilt (for turbo), and took it to 6800-7k a few times a week, and it was fine. Also, it was a $250 junkyard motor too, haha.
