he just said that he has a 96 b18c1 = GSR .. damn, im tellin you, DARKCVC .. go watch some Barney, Sesame Street, or Spongebob .. you'll catch up with the rest of the world..

anyway, try unplugging your battery for 5 minutes and turn it back on again.. then try again.. if this does not solve your problem, try to borrow someone else's working p72 ECU .. if the problem is fixed, it is your ECU ... but if the same problem exists, then it's your engine.. i hope that helped you out.

Try another tach. Yours may be off.

i would stick with checking out a friends ecu to see if that works. also check the tach, stock tachs aren't the most accurate but i don't think i have ever heard of them being off by that much.

This could be COMPLETELY unrelated, but I had the same problem. It didn't happen all the time though, but it was my VSS. My VSS was going out and that was causing the computer to go ape$hit. I would be driving down the street at 40mph and the speed limiter would kick in.

But like I said, I don't know if it has ANYTHING to do with what you are describing.

ECU could limp mode...is VTEC even engaging? Could be an oil pressure related problem. Is everything wired correctly? Is your 02 good?

Yes Vtec is engaging fine, theres no CEL light and, to my knowledge, everything is wired up right. wouldn`t a bad O2 cause a cel also?

I've heard 02 sensors may go out and it won't give you any cel. I'm not sure how to check to see if the o2 sensors are working properly. I'm guessing the tach might be off as well. Who knows. Try another ECU.
