Rev Limiter
Ok i have an LS-Vtech with a holer **** load of problems and my rev limiter was 6900RPM's and its been that way for 2 weeks since i've had the car with motor and today i was with my friends and they told me to rev it up and i did and i hit 8500RPM's i was kinda shocked so i diconnected my ECU for about half hour and reconnected it and its still 8500 so i dont know what i did but i wanna kno if its bad cause i love it i mean 8500RPM hella nice

From what i can understand he's saying that his rev limiter was at 6900 rpms, and one day his friends told him to rev it up and the limiter hit 8500 rpms. he wants to know what happend and if its going to fukk his car up.

What is the limit for an LS vtec? um from my knowledge if the limit for the engine for examle is 8000 it suppose to stay at 8000 so i think you may have an ecu thats unlimited but hey i dont know what the limit is on your kind of motor...
i know that if you past the the limit of the engine when revving it should blow your engine..
*also um the piston would break but hey atleast the piston arms would be loose so um the arms wouldnt take much force to move back and forth which means that the engine would become faster
the down side new pistons baby

the stock ECU is a P2T in their but i have a hondata thats gonna go in their soon but the motor has some mods like
Engine Work:
BLOCK: B18a1
OEM Bearings
OEM gaskets
OEM Rings
PR3 pistons
Hot tanked
Rotating assembly balanced
Crank micro polished
ARP rod bolts
ARP head studs
HEAD: PR3 JDM b16
Rebuilt with all OEM parts
CTR intake cam *new*
Resurfaced
Engine Work:

OEM Rings
PR3 pistons
Hot tanked

I think your forgeting somthing.
It does not make any sence. your rev cant just jump up that much one day.
i supose its possible that a sensor is not liking a situation at 6900 and causes it to cut. or maybe a fuel psi issue.
regardless, go waste your money on hondata and reset that rev to like 7400. i dout your setup will even make power past that anyway.
rev that to 85 a few more times and you will not have a motor.

well i talked to the previous owner and he said that the redline on the ECu was alway's supposed to be 8500 so now it is all i need is to figure out why the Vtec wont engage but its probably the ECU
