rev and idle worries
well i've been noticing something latly i have a dx 1999 civic manual, when im in neutral parked and rev to any amount of RPMS then release the gas my car almosts turns off, on the gauge it hits the zero RPM and then catches itself and goes up to low thousands. Can someone tell me why that happens and if it's normal but really doesnt sound normal.

I have a 2000 DX that (only sometimes) does the same thing. It never actually stalls, but I can tell it wants to. It's hard to tell whats wrong when there is no check-engine-light. But some common issues are a vacuum leak, or faulty idle air control valve (commonly referred to as just "IACV").
