Resurfacing?
I found a video on Streetfire and it talks about how and why you should resurface the block. In the video they are re-surfacing a B18A and the man in the video said that it is important that you resurface the block after having it apart. Is this necessarily true?
I will provide a link to the video, I'm not sure if Im allowed to or not.

Re: Resurfacing? (TXGrunt)
if the motor has been heated up for a long period of time, over normal heat, yes the heat makes it warp jus like the head. if u resurface it then it will bump up ur compression slightly depending on how much u resurface it.

Typically you just check it with a straightedge and feeler gauge. There's a manufacturer's set limit to how much warpage is allowed until resurfacing is required. If you're within spec it's fine.
