Resetting A/F or ignition timing after header install?
2000 civic si with v2 intake, dc catback, ebay header.
I had to replace my header after it broke at the welds just before the collector. I stuck an inner diameter/outer diameter pipe on the header to muffle the sound, however, it was still really loud and lost a lot of backpressure. I drove around like that for about a month. I replaced it with an ebay header (66.50 shipped!!) until I can purchase a header back set up.
After I threw it on I noticed that sounds like a slightly like a subaru. I have a small leak on the catback and my donought gasket (between the cat and the header) had to be re-used. I'm curious if the noise is just from there. I replaced the wires and plugs with ngk iridiums the day after. It still made the noise. None of the old plugs looked any different. Just brownish.
Any thoughts?
