Best gas mileage bang for the buck is definitely tire pressure. Make sure your tires are at least at recommended pressure.

I don't think anybody and ****ing search on this website. At least 4-5 of these gas mileage threads get started a day. Mods need to start locking these and people need to start using the search function.

mine probably was some new ngk plugs cause da new project had some boschs that were fouled out beyond belief.... other than that maybe clean ur TB, run a fuel system cleaner and use premium, air and fuel filters, change ur o2 sensors. lots of stuff can improve ur mpg but best of all is keep ur foot off the pedal! lol

Premium gas will not improve your gas mileage. You're wasting your time running premium in a Honda that does designate to use it specifically (GS-R, Si, etc.). I ran a tank of 91 octane through my girlfriend's 97 DX and actually got 3 MPG lower than running 89 octane (ethanol) through the car.

+1 on the Bosch's being ****. I've had terrible luck with those. NGK V-power coppers ftw.

Like I said though, if you would search or even just scroll through the first two pages of this section you'd see 4 threads about gas mileage bullshit.

GSR swap. haha. I got 32mpg last tank in my CX, using ethanol and driving like I stole it.
I have no cat, AC, power steering and I have my headlights on most of the time since I primarily drive at night, and it's been cold as ***** here lately.

Here are tips both unique to Hondas and generic, from my experiences and those of other Honda owners, organized by cost: http://honda.lioness.googlepages.com/gasmileagetips

Buddy you already have a topic on the first page with the exact information you are looking for. Don't shut someone out for telling you what you need to do.

Most overlooked part in helping MPG is a clogged PCV valve. Replace that thing and you wll notice a change. I did.

And like a few others have said. PLEASE search first. Lets not promote topics already covered...

i get over 50 mpg on my 00 hatch, and things that I have done other then a serious tune up, use 0w30 synthetic motor oil, plugs, cap, rotor, pcv valve, o2 sensor, trans fluid, make sure your tires are @ MAX SIDE WALL PSI, not what the door placard says.

It sounds like you really need a tune up badly as well as the biggest change...Your driving style will improve your gas mileage, meaning accelerate briskly to about 2k rpms and shift don't floor it but be smart.

The point of that is to keep your engine in its best BSFC which is where its in the most effcient range.

Keep your speed down the difference that going 65 down to 55 will be huge lower you go the less power is needed and used so the better mileage you can get on the longer stretches.

Also keep all excess weight out of your car maybe even try a grille block, it will help your car warm up faster and run at a more optimum temperature.

There are lots of sites out there that have tons of ways to get better mileage not sure if i can list here but pm me if you want more help
