Exactly what should he search for????
That's a pretty specific question...
To the poster:
I'd do the timing belt the water pump and check the general state of things while it's still out of the car (take of the v/c look for scoring or buildup)
Other than that I'd suggest buying enough coolant, (and DISTILLED water (seriously... if you intend on keeping this car for any length of time DO NOT use tap water.)), tranny oil (I think you need the kind made for lsd trannies but I'm not positive (I'd use honda everything by the way (as far as fluids))) and oil to swap it twice... a LOT of the jap. motors have been sitting outside for some time... My buddy put a jdm prelude motor in a customer's car and when he went to change the oil WAY too much fluid came out of it... It blew up a day or 2 later... (that was a MUCH older engine though 88 lude).
Cracking the head off and changing the Headgasket is probobly a little extreme (and may void any start-up warantee you have) but I probobly would. It gives you a good idea of how the engine is/was running... and you can look for any obvious problems.
Good luck.
