Default Replacing Heater Core Questions

Is there anyway to replace the heater core OTHER than removing the dash?
What tools are needed?
If I keep the car, I might just try to hack up the dash, so I won't have to go through all the work
thanks

ANy DIY faq's
And where did you guy's get your heater core.
Can you test a junkyard one to see if it works or is it a gamble and how much does a new one cost.
What are the symptoms of a bad heater core?
I have no heat, can that be one?
I assumed it is.
The only code I have is code 41

forgot about that.
Yeah mine doesn't leak, but it is very bothersome that I have no heat, especially when it gets cold and i need it as a defroster

Hows your coolant level? T-stat working properly? Is the hot water valve opening? How about the heater controls?

Fixed
it was that valve that connects to the heater core.
The valve which should be connected to that wire was loose and it was stuck in the heat position

That was alot easier than replacing a heater core.

i mean stuck in the cool position
when the heat is on, it is suppose to be in the same direction the hose is, when the cool is on, it is perpendicular to the hose
