Default Replacing D16Y7 Civic CX with a D16Z6 Wiring and Mounts Questions?

I am going to be replacing the D16Y7 in my Civic CX with a D16Z6 and I had some wiring and engine mounts questions.

So far I have:

1. D16Z6 complete engine with tranny and mounts
2. P28
3. Boomslang OBD2A to OBD1 conversion harness

Is this all I'm gonna need?

Since my CX did not have VTEC, will I have to add the wiring to the harness currently in the car?

I assume since it is a D-series that I can use the mounts that came with the D16Z6 OR the ones already in the car.

Will this be a: Drop the engine in, plug in the P28 into the conversion harness, the conversion harness gets plugged into the harness of the P2P, wire in the VTEC wire and turn the key and go.

OR

Get an aftermarket set of mounts to allow me to drop the engine in, plug in the P28 into the conversion harness, the conversion harness gets plugged into the harness of the P2P, change distributor, lots of re-wiring...etc/headaches/cursing and turn the key and...then it might not run....

I hope the answer is the first one Any other gotcha's that anyone has seen if they had done this before, please let me know. i would appreciate any help!

I did a B18C1 into a VX EG 5-6 years ago with my brother-in-law and that is the scope of my knowledge in the Honda hybrid world. I searched and found this and I ope the guy sees it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1118270

im thinking option 'a' but im really tired and could easily be wrong.. i dont know if the obd2a deal will complicate things. but if i were you and nobody else responds in this thread, i would set a day aside to shoot for option a and see what happens. just make sure you have a backup plan should you need to work on the car over a span of days

also im pretty sure the mounts are the same, but to be safe i would use the mounts from the car. once again i could be wrong. i you should just have to wire vtec this is assuming you have the d16z6 wiring harness. if you dont have the d16z6 engine wiring harness then things could become more complicated

thanks

Anyone else can confirm or dispute? This really can't be much different than doing a min-me. Only thing different I'm doing is installing the engine with head and tranny all at once.

Honda Tuning is starting the same project but is doing it in stages. The March! issue I just bought yesterday! covered the intro and teardown process. Can't wait another month.

hey u can use ur harneess and stock cx mounts , there are a few things ur going to have to do , ur gonn have to rewire the obd1 dizzy to work right on ur car... and u are going to have to change ur 3 wire iac to a 2 wire... since the dx motor is a 3 wires setup and pretty much every other motor is a 2 wire......u are also gonna have to extend a few wires.... now u can get a harness from a same model year ex and use , and u woun't have to worry about most of this, but u will still have to rewire that obd1 dizzy, basically unpin a few wires and move them around

Correct info.. Just need to use your obd2a injectors off your cx and second add a pin to c15 for vtec.. thats all you'll need.. keep me updated..

Also need to know what axles to use. Can I use my 96 axles or do I need those from a 95? Custom?
