ok so i have a 95 ex. 2dr
replacing the passengers side axle
i have everything done and am now tightening everything down.
the problem that I'm having is with the ball joint.
first things first
IT IS NOT CROSS THREADED
but the entire stud is spinning when i try to tighten the castle nut down...
any advice

do you have a swap in it?

use an extra jack or jackstand under the lower control arm and let the vehicles weight onto it it. try and go as far inboard as you can while staying on the horizontil portion of the control arm so you have room to put your nut on and get a socket in there

well that didn't work

Endo-land

Reconnect the shock fork when you jack up the lower control arm and it should go. Are you using an impact wrench?

Another thing to try would be to use a huge pliers (don't know the type name). Use it to clamp down on top of the ball joint and under the control arm to keep it from spinning inside. Edit: A huge heavy-duty C-clamp may also work.

the shock fork has the bolt in it but not tight and no I'm not using an inpact wrench... but i do have access to one. just gotta hook up the compressor... well i guess I'll go and do that...

instrument

usually what works for me is to jack up the lower control arm, but you said that didn't work, how high did you jack it?

also try some sort of lube on the nut and try to spin it faster, may sound silly but that usually works for me.

i have a C-clamp that i will give a shot after the inpact wrench.

car was 1/4" off the jack stand
