Replacement Carpet? Best quality/fitment?
I'm looking to replace the worn carpet in my '95 Civic hatch. I wanted to go with a Honda one, but wow, over $300 seems like too much to me. I'd prefer to protect it with some OEM floormats and go with a non-Honda carpet.
Anyone buy a carpet from a certain manufacturer that has some feedback on it?
Personally I know there's a Newark company I used a while back for another car, and that brand I won't go with again, other than that, I have no idea.

I've heard of people buying this stuff...But I can't say anything about the quality..Definitely worth checking out, I suppose.

Supposedly anything other than OEM doesn't fit right from what I have heard from many members. Do you have any friends that work at Honda that can get you a discount?

Re: Replacement Carpet? Best quality/fitment?
Before I got into the Honda tuning I restored my first car from the ground-up. I know there are reputable carpet manufacturers out there since a lot of people restore cars and most of their carpets look like they fit well even without being custom-created. It's probably a given it won't fit perfect, but extra padding and some glue can help a LOT. Considering how much road noise the car has now, I wouldn't mind adding some padding this time anyhow.
If I don't get any solid feedback on here I'll probably go with the cheapest "form/press molded" carpet I can get, made by a brand I've heard of. What I won't buy again is a seam-sewn fitted carpet. They are junk and the seams fall apart...

i've heard that the stockinteriors.com carpet is nice but it requires some trimming to fit perfectly. however, this is to be expected with any carpet you buy unless it's OEM.

You should check with the dealer about the OEM carpet. When I went locally they told me carpets for EGs were discontinued and no dealers had any old stock that they could find in the system. I ended up getting a used black carpet for $75 from someone on a forum. Shampooed it nice with the Bissel cleaner and it's good as new.

Stockinteriors, which sent me an AutoCustomCarpets box actually (same company?), fit fine in 96 Civic EX. I didn't even have to trim the edges, just cut some holes and stuffed carpet under panels.

Nice to hear a consensus.
Now I just need to decide on a brand of sound deadener... the road-noise of the VX is something I can't live with any longer...

All the comments about stockinteriors.com were about fitment. What about quality of carpet?

I'm alright with the quality. It's not amazingly plush but looks like it'll be difficult to damage. Ask them to send you some samples (for color verification). It took a bit of effort with a razor just to open holes for the seats and such, ripping won't be a concern. Installation, however, needs to be done carefully. I screwed mine up a little and have a visible gash in the centre console driver leg area.

Bump, here's some pics of it: http://wtf132.wtfserve.net/~dave/acc/ pardon that my floor is otherwise nasty as hell, I've been doing a lot lately since I just got a new d16y7. :S
Seems to feel just like stock carpet, probably same material. I have no complaints other than I over trimmed by my shifter.
