Repairing rust?
 

Hey HT, What would be a good way to repair a rusted Undercarriage of a car? Or should I say just clean it up alot better than it is? I live in Florida so rust isnt that common here.

Depends on how bad the rust is. If it's starting to eat all the way through the body then there isn't much you can do without actually replacing whats already rusted. If its just surface rust, then you can use a hand grinder to get down to bare metal and use some anti-rust ( I forget what they call it) paint from autozone. If you just don't want it to spread much more (or slow the cancer down) then you can just spray some of that paint where the rust is. Go to autozone and they will point you in the right direction.

if its surface rust 40 grit sandpaper, then spray with primer, im not sure if u guys have rustproofing there but if there is use it

yeah, Autozone is Autozone where ever you go lol. Its mostly surface rust. Just some places need to be refabrecated like the sideskirt inserts and some of the frame (Two Maybe three small random spots). I just wanted to see what idea you guys had in mind before I started, I was just going to sand down the whole undercarriage as best as could then use some black primer (2-3 coats) then come back again and hit it with that Professional 3M rubber undercoating and apply about (2-3 coats) of that and I think I should be good for a good while. The Autozones around where I live are run mostly by morons, so I wouldn't rely on them for advice on fixing your car. One time I went there to get a belt for a person's Ford Taurus and the person behind the counter said to get a Duralast belt because it will last. So uh, no.
Eastwood has a lot of rust prevention and restoration products and you could check classic car forums for better advice.
