Default !!! Is this repairable? !!!

Can someone tell me if these mounting holes are repairable without having to use a different block? What you are looking at are two stripped holes where the driver side motor mount connects. I've heard that time-serts may be able to save this block, any opinions??? Any info would help - thanx

BTW, that chip doesn't go nearly as far as it looks, not even a quarter of an inch.

doesn't look like anything a heli coil couldn't fix
are the holes themselves messed up or are the threads just stripped out

yes. it is repairable. i've used blocks worse than that with that same problem before. just use liquid steel and make the mount part of the block

Could weld some new metal there also and retap the threads. Any decent machine shop will own that.

yah you could also drill the holes out and retap them and use bigger bolts but you might have to drill the holes in the mount out too so the larger bolt fits threw me. it may be easier to use the heli coil method as stated above(i'd just use heli coils)

its definitly fixable, but drilling out that block wont be easy, be prepared for the drill you spin on you bc i guarantee it will catch.

just drill it out and re-tap the hole , and use the next size bolt.

done.

Have a machine shop look at it, and they'll tell if you if it's fixable or not.

I would bring it to a professional if you don't know what to do.
