Default Removing Sideskirts w/o Damaging them?

Maybe I'm just not patient or something but what is the correct method of removing sideskirts on my 93 EJ1 without busting off all the clips and bending the sideskirt?

just remove all the philips black screws from the bottom, front and back of the skirt and then just slide it towards the rear of the car it should come right out.

I think it slides to the rear, it's been a few months since I've done it. Just smack it with the heel of your hand and it'll pop right off.

You sir are wrong.

You slide toward the front of the car to remove the sideskirts.
That is why there is a slit on the back side of the sideskirts and 2 screws in the front fenderwell.
