Is this possible? I can't get the bitch pin out for the life of me, and I'm just sick of dickin' around with it. Can I just disconnect the tranny from the engine, and remove the engine? If so, how?

In my experiance its easier to remove them as a whole unit, even while doing an tranny swap i like to take the engine with the tranny out as once piece. As for the bitch pin lol im not sure what you mean if its the one on the linkage you could try using a combination of punches the best one i know is the one that is the same size as the pin, not one that goes thro the center of it cause those tend to just make it wanna stay in there more. or if all else fails take the engine out thro the bottem of the car linkage and all

ok, i ran into the same proplem on my engine removal. I think i just ussed a little sledge and a punch the same size as the pin. Or was it i ussed a punch into my air chissel and went at it that way? im pretty sure i ussed the air chissel knowing me Im known for breaking bolts while putting things toghter lol.....

dude remove the whole thing, it will be easier. I did a longblock only swap and it took even longer

i cant see how taking the motor off and leaving the tranny will be easier or faster. its alot easier pulling the while thing

Thats pretty much what weve been talking about, Hes having trouble with the pin holding the shift linkage onto the tranny itself. My sagestions were:

A- get the propper size punch for the pin. And the mini sledge

B- Air chissel with the right size punch tip

B- naturally is my personal favorite cause it gives me the opertunity to use loud machinery and break things

oh i see i had that problem i cut the **** off lol
i think i could have gotten it out of i jacked the car up higher i had no room to swing hard enough to puch it out. honda really needs to come up with a better way to connect the linkage maybe a screw like the bitch pin that you use a allen head to screw in now thats ingenious

Well i have the hoist rented..... so i think im gonna break down and rent for a second day. All I really gotta do is get that goddamned pin out, then pop the axels, then im pretty much done. Just put in my jdm d15b.

d series are pretty light wasnt too hard riping the bitch out

Seriously goto the hardware store, get a punch the same size as your pin and wale away at it with the hammer. Might take you a while but ill come out eventually and you wont mess anything up less you miss with the hammer ext but even then you run the bigger risk of hurting your self then anything else.

Hammer is my favorite tool in my tool box

hahahaha i saw that ****** pin move! a/c compressor bolt is good for a start..... gonna run and get an 8mm non tapered punch tomorrow

lol told you right tool for the right job, Normally includes an oversize Hammer and proper tool to help the hammer direct the blunt of its force to the intended area Air chissels are better because they require less effort to move

just do it the right way and don't cut corrners, just take the whole fN thing out as one, I know you don't want to take out the axles but your wasting more time just trying to take it out alone, then taking out the whole thing, it's way ezer, I do a swap in 1:30 buy my self. out in and down the street

You would have to be crazy to try and remove the long block from the tranny inside your engine bay. You probably never changed a clutch before, if you did you would never even think about doing it the way you described.
