Removing Engine harness?
Im trying to remove the old harness but im having trouble removing it. I've searched everywhere but everyone keeps saying just pull it from the firewall, but thats not working. I unplugged everything possible. Is there anything i'm missing. I have a 94 civic ex coupe by the way.

Re: Removing Engine harness? (vtec94civic)
I made a huge mistake by putting my b16 in with a right hand drive harness. So i had to remove the harness and put a new one in with the engine in the car, took 3 hrs, anyway what I had to do and what you will probably have to do is cut the old harness out because it runs through the rear mounting bracket that bolts to the firewall and that bracket is not coming off unless you pull the engine or tranny. When I put my new harness on I just ran it over the top of that bracket. Good luck

The engine is completely out the car. I'm doing a k20 swap so i'm trying to remove the old harness. I don't want to cut it either cause i have someone who wants to buy the engine harness uncut. I'm trying to get it out from the firewall but it seems as thought it doesnt want to come out. The ecu is unplugged. do i have to take out the blower motor to get to a zip tie or something. I'm kinda stumped

Re: (vtec94civic)
to get it off the firewall there should only be 3 plugs on the passenger side and 2 plugs on the driver side unless its an EX or LX then it will have 3 plugs on the driver side. btw is the engine out side of the car on the floor or just dangling in the engine bay. because if its completly out of the engine bay and you see wires on the engine than you have probably disconnected all that needs to be disconnected. The 3 plugs coming from the driver side and 3 plugs coming from the passenger side are the main car harness wires they run through the firewall to the ECU. Those wires do not come out.

The motor is completely out the car. i need to remove the harness cause i'm putting a k20 in there. Everything has been disconneted . i just need help taking out the rest of it from the firewall where the other plugs connect to the ecu. i don't know if there is anything else connected to the harness behind the dash. I've unpluged just about everything i can think of on the harness. i"m trying to remove it and seems as though its stuck. I tried pulling it out from the firewall while my brother tried to see if its on anything and we really couldn't tell. Just wondering if i have to take out the blower motor to get to a zip tie or something. thanks.

Take it through the firewall, from the engine bay, to the interior, in other words from outside in. One plug at a time, while you're pulling and wiggling it(not tugging) have your brother feed from the engine bay one plug at a time as they come, I just did it last week, it's a matter of patience. Good Luck
P.S. Don't cut it, you can sell it for good money if you're not going to use it.
P.P.S are you sure everything's unplugged, windshield wiper motor perhaps?
