Removing Cruise Control
Is there a good way of removing cruise control, on a SI. I have a problem, there is a box under the wheel that buzzes, and when it happens it put the check engine light only when i start the car. Also it wont turn over. Any additional help would be great..

Why do you want to remove the cruise control?
Could you tell us more about this "box" and "buzzing?"
If you are getting a Check Engine light, pull the code from the ECU that is causing the light to come on. To do this, read here.

Does the fuel pump turn on? Is your battery charged? (Does it hold a charge?) Have you checked the starter?
Does the engine crank? If so, are you getting spark?
When exactly did you start having problems?

Sounds like more of a problem than cruise control ..CC is easy to remove, you'll need to buy a vaccum plug to put on the IM. It's a few bolts on the unit (looks like a big round thaaaang in the front right) and pull the vaccum lines out, and remove it from the pedal.

Re: Removing Cruise Control
I bought a new relay for the fuel pump, fuel pump is almost new, The motor starts up, I bought the car and the cruise control was taken out. I am not sure if it was completely taken out. I turn the key and wait for the fuel pumps 2sec. and turn the key, I sometimes wont turn over, and after turning it over i hear a buzzing coming from a box under/ on the side of the fuze box. It has on it auto cruise and i believe it is part of the left over cruise control. Thanx

I don't get it... look under your hood if you see a flying saucer like device on your drivers side of the engine bay right in front of your shock. that's your cruise control.
I don't see how that would interfere with your ignition problems? If anything puch the button on the dash so the light turns off, then try restarting the car...

Shouldn't interfere with anything then, I got mine still there w/ no Cruise control under the hood...
But the problem is a noise coming from under the dash, and that you can't actually turn over the engine?
