Default Removing aftermarket deck from 98 civic

I currently have a Clarion dxz535 installed in my civic. It doesn't power up and has never worked since I bought this car. I recently got a Pioneer DEH-23UB deck.

To remove the deck I have followed these steps from (http://www.installdr.com/installdocs...PDF/466013.pdf) :
- removed the driver side panel below the steering.
- removed the glove box.
- removed the panel below the deck.

But i can't seem to find any screws that hold the deck. I looked behind the deck and on the right side. I'm able to move the deck little bit in the up-down direction on the rear, so i know the screws must be on the sides. But how do i access these.

Appreciate any replies.

What year? You need to supply that information. Your links take me right back to the homepage. Not the PDF.

Are you stuck on step #10?

Do i need a clarion removal tool/key like this one:

There has to be some screws there that you're missing at that step.

Do you have the "deck keys"? You may need them to pull the radio out of the cage. The deck clips into the cage, and the cage holds it into the dash.

You shouldn't have to pull any dash panels, unless the deck is screwed in.
