**I posted this in the apperance section already, but just because i'd like to get input on specificially 5th gen cpe drivers who have actually done this, is why i posted in here also. I understand if it needs to get deleted. thanks

i drive a red 95 ex coupe with that factory "civic ex" sticker on the upper rear pannel (next to the trunk). I would like to remove this sticker, ONLY if it will not leave some werid outline, faded paint, etc. Is this possible, if so, how?

The reason why im so concerend about removing a sticker is that the rest of the car is immaculate and shines great w/ factory paint. Just dont want to put an ugly spot on the car. thanks!

Think about it, man. It's been on there about 10 years. Unless you have a fresh paint job or your car never sat in the sun, I'm going with faded.

you could remove it.

use wax to get the gooo off of the paint.

If it looks bad go get a new sticker ... Not that expensive.

or a heat gun. If you are removing the badge to hide the fact that it is an EX the sunroof will give it away.

i used a blow driver to get mine off cause i just dont like any stickers on my car i took the stripeing down the side off too...

it wont leave any marks, i removed mine, and all there was left was sticky ****, and it was easy to scrub off..

gasoline worked as well believe it or not. I was about to have a cow when my homie took a rag and put gasoline on it, and started rubbing it on the glue left on after removing the badges, and it came off perfectly fine after letting the gas penetrate the glue along with a little heat friction from rubbing, without harming the paint one bit! Just wash it real good after, but don't use anything abrasive, cause that'll scratch it for sure. But gas is another option...I am sure WD40 will work fine, and is much more safer too, but if you dont got that, use good ol gas, it works great,

i took my civic off cuz the prevouis owner had it centered but it didnt leave any marks

I have a red coupe and here's what I did. I warmed it up with a blowdryer and peeled it off. It left a lot of sticky residue, so I grabbed a big eraser and scrubbed away. It took me a long *** time but it came out great. No paint fade, no nothing. I used GooGone before in my engine bay, and as I was wiping away, paint was coming off. So I'd try to eraser method first, if I were you.

i used goo gone on my cavalier when I had it. I just kept it wet and let the stuff soak in for a few min and the peeled it off.

Just peel it off after heating it with a blowdryer, and then use some nail polish remover to get off the sticker left behind. But expect there to be a ghost image or outline to some extent.

I would think that the fact that the backgound on the decals on the 92-95 civics are clear and if I remember the letters themselves have small lines or spaces running through them that enough light shoud get through to "wear" the paint pretty even so there shouldn't be any fade issues. just yank it off, it was already said, worst case you buy another one, either way it will look better than an old cracked decal.

gasoline.. wd40... you poeple are ******* morons. They make adhesive remover. Goto the "store".. this can be autozone, pepboys, whatever and buy it. 3-4$ a can. Spray, peel off, spray again, wipe the gum mertial off. wash your car... done.

get 3M glue, wax, adhesive etc., etc. remover..its cheap and its what we use at work (Honda) to take off the adhesive from the plastic on the hood, roof, and trunk of new cars. then use some mothers *paste* wax not a wet wax..that should restore the color of the paint. and if not, like said above, just get a new sticker they arent that expensive..www.inlinefour.com sells them.

this is what you do, take a heat gun wave it over the sticker to heat the vinyl and then use your finger nail to peal it up be carefull not to burn yourself on the metal and the n take a buffer and some poslish to try to blend it in

I'm tellin' you man...don't knock the gas method til you've seen or tried it!!! I'm just telling you from my own experiences with like 4 cars, and WD-40 has to work, cause its got like 101 uses! Of course there's always gonna be a professional product out there to fix these kinds of problems, but its about knowing "what else" you can use that will get the job done.
