To Remove or Not To Remove Factor Reflector infront of bulb with HIDS???
K i have my headlights pulled apart to paint them and Im just wondering with my hids will I have better output if I take out the factor reflector that sits right in front of the bulb? This is something Id like to do before I put the housing back together cause I ain't pulling em back apart

I don't know if it was the right thing to do but I took mine out and I have HID's. Some say its there to reflect light off the headlight itself, others say it keeps you from blinding people. I have maxima HID's and my light output is good and I don't blind anyone.

i also have maxima hids
but i left my reflectors in and dont have a problem with light output either so i think its just a matter of preference as long as you aim them correctly

yea,I pulled the Reflector out, My other problem is that I thinkt he bulbs are not for the right car because I have to like rig the bulb into place. I always liked the maxima bulb look. Do the maxima bulbs lock into the back of the housing like the stock bulbs would?

if your askin what i think you are then no they dont i had to cut the ring off of a h4 bulb then we epoxied it into the ring so it would fit it fits perfectly but now it does "lock" into place just as stock would i know its rigged but thats the only way it will work with out casper shields.

um... are you guys using casper shields??? are you using projectors or stock reflector headlights? if you using reflector headlamps without casper shields your beam pattern will must likely suck, you have lots of glare & you'll blind on coming traffic...look in to getting some casper shields
http://www.casperselectronics....CIALS
they allow for OEM d2s/d2r HID bulbs (capsules) to be used in a H4 application...lol & make sure the shield is on the bottom (below the bulb)
as for the shield that comes in the OEM housing...its your call - I would try one with & one with out & compare them. then decide (make sure to take pics too)
