classics or newer
alright ive been building eg's and ek's for years now but have never gotten my feet wet with a newer honda, im questioning myself if i should move on to newer honda's, no matter what it is i can fix and replace it on these older honda's and i can do a complete swap in 45 mins (yeah i clocked myself) i watch someone do it and i can it right then, so here's the question to you guys...and gals haha should i stick with something i know like the back of my hand or is it time to move on to the newer Si's. ill love the classics for the rest of my life but do i need to step up my game?

I absolutely hate the new civics.... the ek and dc5 are the last good cars honda made excluding s2k of course....
i would get an EK or EJ if you wanna get technical..... but i would go newer...
If I had the funds I would love to have a DC5 but I love my EJ6

yeah I just don't like the way the new ones look.... the K power is cool but instead of gettin a new si for the power I would just swap a K into your EK but I would be plenty happy with the B20 I plan on doin a High comp CRVtec someday .... but like everything else it is just personal preference... and if you have been in the game for awhile I know I don't have to tell you that...

Re: classics or newer
I will always stick to 1995 and older for a modded Honda simply because I hate OBD2 and I have GA state emissions to have emissions every year. OBD1 has to pass a sniffer here - easy enough if done right. OBD2 has to not have any codes being thrown - can be easy too, but if highly modded OBD2 will throw an assortment of codes that OBD1 won't throw.
Newer Hondas? Say the word(s) "turbo" or "lumpy cams" in a newer Hondas and watch the CEL come on.

Re: classics or newer
This is coming from a guy with Spoon SW388s on his 92 Civic...
One day you Spoon lovers will realize that most/all of the Spoon stuff is highly overpriced not much better than OEM parts. Yes I just said that. I remember when Spoon was "fresh" and "cool" and I'm surprised that people still talk about how awesome their stuff is when better and cheaper alternatives are out there to be had in place of Spoon stuff.
It's funny to see that little has changed in this "scene" even after the first big JDM wave back in the early 2000's.

Yeah I wasn't trying to belittle people who love Spoon. I'm just saying it's funny because this stuff comes in waves and in cycles. I had a brief obsession with all things Spoon, but after seeing how their stuff works when compared to other cheaper, but still equally nice stuff, I can't say too many Spoon items appeal to me any longer.
I've got their wheels...
...and Duracon black shift ****...
In both cases the prices were absolutely stupid cheap and I could not pass them up. I purchased the **** and wheels at arguably the peak of the whole JDM craze back in 2002 or 2003 - like i said the Spoon xraze has been around a long time.
The wheels are now classics that are discontinued, and the **** is actually one of the best ones I've ever owned since it doesn't heat up or get cold being that's its Duracon - a fancy name for plastic.
Their cooling products such as thermoswitch and thermostat can actually do more harm than good, especially in colder weather. Most times in colder weather it keeps the engine from running at full operating temps, which can cause rich conditions and even no VTEC. Certain race parts are just that - race parts.
