Remove Door Handle?

Remove Door Handle?
Anyone done this?
I need a write up or manual on how to do this... Ive got most of it figured out, the rods gave me some trouble, but got them disconnected. Now Im stuck with the metal plate (behind the handle) which seems to be holding the whole thing in (and is caught on the lock cylinder?)
thanks in advance.

For 96-00 Civics...
After removing the Door Panel and Plastic Lining, you have to remove the Lock Cylinder. There is a Horseshoe-shaped Retainer Clip that should be pried from the bottom of the Lock Cylinder. After doing so, the 2 bolts that hold it to the Door should come off easily.
Since you say you've already disconnected the Rods, the handle should pop out easily from there (they're supposed to be removed after detaching the Handle from the Door)... According to the Helm Manual (I've never done this before).
Good Luck! (buy the Manual)

you can see the rods are disconnected, Im trying to figure out how to get the metal plate, on the left side of the rear of the handle.
you can also see the lock cylinder in the middle of it, which it appears to be caught on.

After removing the Retaining Clip and Bolt, the Lock Cylinder should be able to pull out. The only step listed in the Helm Manual between pulling out the Retaining Clip and Removing the Door Handle is to disconnect the Outter Handle Rod (I guess undoing the Cylinder Lock Rod is optional), which you've already done.
I can't see why your Assembly is stuck. After taking off the Bolts and the Retaining Clip, the Cylinder Protector (the metal plate) and the Lock Cylinder can be removed toward the inside of the car, while the Outter Handle can be removed toward the outside. The only thing I can make out is that you've removed the Lever which is used to attach the Cylinder Rod to the Lock Cylinder Cam. You might be able to pull the Lock Cylinder out easier if you put it back (the Helm Manual shows it being removed with the Rod detached from the Lever, but with the lever still attached to the Cylinder Cam)...
Other than that, the Haynes Manual sucks for details like this. If you're doing light maintenance work, then it's OK. But if you REALLY want to know about your car, then get the Helm Manual...
Best of luck, and let us know how it goes!
