I've had my car for quite awhile and in my small town (1300 peope) nothing has happened to at all and i've left it at some pretty random places when it was broke down. even in Portland, OR no one has messed with it at all either even when there was a stock civic next mine overnight at a GATED apartment complex, they stole it instead. I also have a full alarm for the doors trunk and hood and a clutchlock but they havent even bothered to break into mine. maybe the blinking light and missing steering wheel really scares em off

thats what i am saying.. if im a thief and i want to steal a car i want there to be something to drive it with. i have a full autopage LCD pager alarm with all the triggers and stuff so you cant look at my car wrong w/o setting it off. but i think no steering wheel would just be added peace of mind.

ya definately. and its cool as hell I wont even go into the store without taking my wheel off and locking it. there is a way to drill into those big *** locks but that'd take quite a while! If your concerned about it just put it in your trunk if no one is looking if you dont wanna carry a steering wheel through safeway, i'll usually just have a few things on the floor board in the back seat to put over the wheel so its not visible.

removable is the way to go, it saved my car last week, its worth the money, ive heard of this new one that has a pad lock that goes inside after you pull the wheel off, so they cant just add there own wheel

Down here in Sydney, Australia. Thefts are also a problem.
I've got a removable sttering hub just for this very reason: Security.
Most theives are the petty ones that will drive your car away. And this will obviously help to prevent it.
I really only take mine off at home. (Ever seen anyone at the shops or party with a steering wheel in hand? lol) As I figure I'd be able to hear a flatbed tow truck pull up to my house, or at least hear my dog barking away at someone anywhere near my house.
Really its another accessory on the car that gets me to sleep at night.

the main reason (i think) why NRG sells those lock hubs is because all of their quick releases are interchangeable with each other...kinda like the Club when they first came out...they were sold with a set of keys that worked with other Clubs
now, if you have $$$$$$ to spend on just a quick release, go with a signal auto quick release...they are not interchangeable with each other...how do i know??? i have 3 of them and there's no way one spline will fit the other one...i tried. here are some pics of my setup in my EG:
