Re: remote starter issues (bushfreakz)
i wouldn't recommend installing a remote starter, and isn't it illegal? but anyways my friend installed one on his nice *** EK and it hurts me everytime to see him remote start it while in gear and the car jumps into something. he's had it for about 2 months and he's already made his car run into two different things. a garage and someone elses car.

NO, its not illegal. Biggest rumor ever. If you want remote start on a 5 speed get a Clifford G4 or the new G5 series alarm with remote start. The start unit communicates digitally with the brain of the alarm and they have a fail safe system for making sure it is out of gear. I don't want to explain the whole system but if installed correctly it won't even try to start if in gear.

im thinking it has something to do with the yellow wires cause those power the heat yes?
no point in having remote start if i cant preheat or precool my ride for comfort

you probably had the wrong accessory wire.. one wire on the ignition harness is for the radio and other things, and you need the yellow wire under the dash..

am i supposed to cross the 2 ignition wires for the accessories? when hooking it to starter?</TD></TR></TABLE>
if your remote starter has 2 ignition wires only hook up the main one, you do not need both of them.. if its a DEI alarm you need the pink wire and dont use the pink/white wire
