. go with m 3 s they look nice
If your stock paint chipped off then you proably
drive where there is a lot of crap hitting them.
It dosent sound like a paint proablem, just sounds
like normal wear.

yea..you worded that weird..I dont really know what you are asking..but if you are asking about repainting the holder part of the side mirrors..i did them this past summer and they look sweet!
take your inner door panels off. (you are gonna need a window crank tool to take it out, but i didnt have one and used a flathead..and some patience)
unscrew the mirrors from the inside of the car.
once that is off, unscrew the actual mirror assembly off the base part of the mirror (i'm assuming the base is what you want to repaint, since the mirror assembly is black plastic...unless you have color matched mirrors...which you should of specified in the first place! but oh well; they are black now.)
get some sand paper and sand all the remaining paint off the base till its all white.
i just used some basic flat black spray paint from the auto store and gave it a bunch of coats.
thats it..it should dry quickly..so put them back together, and you are done!!
i didnt' put any clear coat...and it survived hot hot summers in direct sunlight..and cold cold winters with snow and ice...hope this helped!
