Redneck Rebuild 101......part duex.........
the day of the melted piston, I ran a 14.89 @ 88 mph on the 20x8x14 slicks.
Did the piston swap per other posts.......
today I ran a 14.88 @ 89 mph on the skinny 20x6x14 slicks.
I was losing .05-.1 on the first 60 ft because of the skinny slicks.
12's with the juice + new cutout should be easy on a cool October day.

93 DX HB, no rear bumper COVER
gutted behind the front seats (saved maybe 25 lbs)
STOCK 95 EX D16Z6 motor
I/H/E + camgear and alot of tuning.
Kaaz LSD, 12.5 lb flywheel
Launching at 7500+, shifting at 7100 rpm.
I need to get it weighed, but I guess at about 2100 without driver.

I've got a 2000 EX coupe, Iceman, DC header, Apex exhaust...going to spray 75 with the Zex kit, installing it tomorrow...bought Zex plugs, and fuel pump booster, running on 275/50/15 Nitto NT555r's. I'll let you know what I ran....

what does it run on street tires?
i always thought of slicks for 13 second or faster cars.. not high 14s on slicks
(i know your car is a 13 second car on the bottle, im just saying)
either way thumbsup

yeah, the 275s don't turn really well, but in a str8 line you can't beat em, and you can air them down to about 12 lbs without them coming off the bead...they are for track use only though, because I couldn't turn around in a Wal-Mart parking lot without scrubbing

street tires = 15.09 at 89 or 90 mph but the tires were 175/50/13s Yoko A008's......
Now I did run a 15.41 last weekend on 185/60/14 Penske all seasons, after doing a burnout for a magazine photo-op.
Basically I MELTED the tires in a second gear burnout, bounced off the limiter for 10-15 seconds. Can you say LIQUID tires?
Drag slicks are more consistant and repeatable times.
