Redline problem B16A(Sir2)?????????
swap is in a 95 civic coupe(ej2) I have a P28 chipped from Phearable.net and the redline was set for 8484rpm BUT the car is redlining at about 7200...7300 rpm. I know this might sound dumb but could a bad cluster stop a car from redlining where it should be? Can somebody please help me out. Also there is no CEL.

your tach might be off. They are usually off the other way though (i.e. they read like 8500-8600 @ 8200)
a bad cluster will not affect it. Did they leave the vtec engagement at the same rpm? I believe it should engage around 5800 on a stock ecu, that will tell you if your tach is off or not

i could prolly be the clusterz...
because i switched my ex clusterz on my eg which had a white face to some original black face clusters that my brother didnt want anymore. That same day before he took it off his gsr swap in a eg was red lining at 6500 and when he took it out and gave it to me my d16 was only revin to 65 also..... threw my old white face clusterz back on and it reved back to 7200 no problem.... so chances r it might just be the clusterz i dont know why it does it but i know i experienced it..
