redline problem

redline problem
i have a gsr motor in my civic...
when i try to redline it.. it reaches 8000rpms in my 1st and 2nd gear but on my 3rd gear the engine just cuts off before i reach 7000rpms..
what could be the reason for that???

Here is a hint: The solution to your problem is hidden inside the ECU.
Pull that code, that will probably what is wrong... Either that, or

go to autozone and have them check your cel code for free they will tell you what ur ecu is trying to tell you with that beautiful cel
