I have a feeling your stock tach is off... may have something to do with the signal comming from the distributor. Just my .02 because I really doubt the redline actually changed.

Re: (crooklyn_outlaw)
your oe tach is off, mine is too, mine say when i hit rev limiter, im at 9 grand but my monstyer tach, which is a little more reliable, tells me im at 8200, so check your tach, or buy a monster tach.

Just listen to the engine. Does it sound like it's going to 8,200 or no? There's a big difference in sound between 8,200 and 7,400 rpms. 8,200 is an rpm I can never forget. It's music to my ears.

When you change gears, 1st to 2nd, what does your RPM drop to?
This may or may not tell you anything if you tach is off...but from redline, it should drop to about 5500 with the crappy *** GSR trans.
How can you even hear VTEC? I couldn't hear **** with my GSR. Are you listening to the 4500RPM VTEC switch or the 5700RPM butterfly switch? The butterfly switch is a lot louder.

no. because VTEC would still be at 4500 and pretty inaudible. Plus...why would you get a B16 manifold for a GSR head? The bolt patterns dont match up and the B16 manifold looks like my pinky finger...

You're hearing the butterflies open. That's not VTEC. VTEC comes in at around 4500 on a GSR with a P72.
