Red Konis w/red ES bushings for my Si? Opinions please!
A friend of mine is parting out his DX hatch. He's offered me his red Konis w/red ES bushings. I would just have them set on the street setting. I really like the way my car handles now, but I suppose that my suspension system is getting tired after all the miles on it. Should I go for the change? How with this change the way my car handles and feels? Otherwise, I wasn't planning on any suspension mods. No GC/yellow Koni combo was in my thoughts. My car is a daily driver but I enjoy taking the twisties fast. He's had some interesting little mishaps in his car and finally rolled it. I'm wondering if he wasn't handling this setup very well.

My car's suspension is just stock. Haven't ever touch it. I'm on the original factory steelies too with Toyos Proxes.

i'd get some springs while you're at it. the shocks won't make much of a difference alone.

Putting in the Konis in would be more just replacing my really old ones. I actually haul some heavy cargo in my hatch when I do antique shows, so actually we were thinking about swapping in the DX's springs. His hatch only had around 40k miles on it.

suspension is just as important as tires, motor.. if you can get a good deal then i would do it.. specially on a 94 civic.. those stock components are begging to be replaced..

Thanks everyone. I just didn't want the car to feel much changed. After all of these years and hours/days spent driving my car, I really know the way she handles. In general, everything else in the car that needed replacement has been stock. What's not stock is a vtec controller unit that I am playing around with and my rear view mirror. So it really is a stock car.

So you still have the VTEC controller eh? Have you played around with it much since that night @ claytons?
On topic: I would definitely take Chris' parts as long as they weren't damaged in the roll. While your car does indeed ride nice, with the mileage you have it's due for some refreshing.

Good shocks will make a very noticeable difference compared to your tired old ones.
If you don't want to get lowering springs, a set of stock ITR springs would suit you nicely. Very cheap, not much lowering at all, and better spring rates than stock. With 250k, your stock springs are pretty dead.

Is that stock ITR springs from the same time period? Like for a 94 teg? I can still get an employee discount from my old Honda dealership for parts.
