Default recovered my car from theft, but the car wont start--help

Hey Fellas, hopefully someone could help me out here or direct me somewhere.

So, i got the car back, everything in tact. it wasnt hot wired so all the wires to the ignition are ok. they did however rip out my alrm brain, that had a kill switch on it. So now when i put the key in the cylinder to turn it on...the car gets power, lights turn on, but the car wont start or crank. kinda like when you try to turn on the car without pressing the clutch in.

any ideas?

I had an alarm and when I removed it I had to re-splice the ignition wire, check for a thick white wire under the dash and make sure it is not cut or spliced to the alarm wires.

remove everything neccessary existing from that alarm (leave the door locks and **** like that wired for next time) make your cars underdash wiring back to normal, get a new alarm.

yeah agreed you need to rewire your alarm system or bypass, but before you do that i'd reccomend you look up the wiring schimatics for the alarm

I concur along with the other fellow that suggested you make sure you bypass the kill switch. And make sure your next alarm is a good one and is installed properly.

yeah i had a viper alarm.....let me just say. unless your going to pay for the full system with all the sensors. its not worth it. I still got broken into.

So thanks, guys, that makes sense, since the brain for the alarm isnt there the ignition signal is probably not going through and not letting me start the car. ill get to work on that

Read up on how to do a stealth install and what sensors to buy. Trust me when I say it is worth the hassle of reading and doing the complete install yourself. When you work it over from stem to stern you will be able to isolate sensors and make enough layers to provide you some sort of security in terms of an alarm. GPS also helps. Search in the Security/Audio Visual thread for stealth installs.
