hey before you go do that you might want to rethink that i work at a shop we call those suicide cans due to them putting foreign materials into your ac system that many (most) shops wont evacuate out of your system and plus you will most likely overcharge your system thus making the efficiency of your ac system suffer massively believe me i know what i am talking about but its your car

usually what happens is that on a older civic say 98 the system very slowly and naturally loses charge due to the seels being somewhat pourous but i just recharged mine and its a 96 and it was not very low and if i were to put a full can of R134A into my system i would have overcharged my system if the problem is that he doesnt want to spend money the last thing to do is to use a suicide can your best bet is to go to a automotive school or community college that teaches auto and they cant charge for labor only materials

Yep this is troof. They actually put propane in them in some cases. Then the only way to get your system legitly refilled will be close to 300 dollars. just to ship contaminated refrigerant alone is 70$ a pound..at least up here in norcal.

On my car the lower side is the one clostest to valve cover.

In your picture it would be the one on the RIGHT.

it will only hook up to one. the low side is smaller then the high side so the recharge kit will only connect to the low side. its not that hard just make sure that your compressor is working before you try to charge it. compressors have a low pressure switch that is triggered when the system is low and the compressor wont turn on. if the compressor doesnt turn on then you need to either have someone pull a vaccum on it or you can find the low pressure switch and just the circuit so that it thinks the system is ok and the compressor turns on so that you can charge your system.

they are different sizes(should be anyways, if not then its wrong), the fitting will only fit on one of them. there are instructions that tell you which to hook to.
