Default Recaro Speed Install Fail - Do I have the right hardware?

I have a pair of Recaro Speeds, brackets for an EG and Sparco sliders that I've been told by now 2 shops should work...but they don't.

I was expecting to modify the base bracket once the sliders were on, but the sliders won't even mount up.

The max spacing on the Recaro seat is 10.25". The Sparco slider only has 2 holes and it's spaced out at 10.75".

Seat Spacing

Slider Spacing

Installed on seat...

As you can see...off by .5". Am I using the right sliders?

Part number 00493

Please don't tell me to go buy other brackets, I know that sparco sliders have been used on Recaros many times, just need to know if something changed on these newer Speed models where I will need new sliders or if the sliders I have are the wrong part number for this seat.

Thanks,
Steve

The memory fab ones look good...but Jesus...$270 for the pair? JHP has vision, but it says only for the DC teggy.

Who else sells them? (Google isn't helping much)

You could get wedge brackets+ sliders, but they are super heavy though. However, they bolted up right to my recaros with no issues.

I don't mind the weight, just want something that works. After looking at the Sparco sliders a little closer, the width (if I mounted them on this seat) would be too wide for the included handle for the slider. (Kinda pissed)

How much are the wedge bracket/slider combos? I didn't notice a price on their site.

DC2 rails are the same as EG ones. If you buy the Visions for DC, they will work in your car.

...Just modify what you have to work. Make the hole longer on the bracket and they'll bolt right up.

It's cool, I guess I'm out of luck and will need new sliders and/or brackets.

IMO if u have a choice between vision or mem fab, go vision....i have had both and the vision slides better, and the mem fab didnt come with seat belt brackets installed...u cant just install it with the bolts to the seat either, i had to cut mine down (cuz it was too long and hitting my arm rest) and weld it to the side of the bracket....a little too much work when u buy seat rails/mounts that are supposed to work out the box.

Really? DC2 seats mount right up to an EG?

Yes, I thought this was common knowledge. I have DB8 front seats and bolted them to my EJ1 with no issues. They are exactly the same.

I'm bringing this back from the dead. So many people have used the sparco sliders on the Recaro seats, how am I failing? The spacing on the speed is the same as the SRD according to the diagrams.

I just hate to invest money into something if I'm just doing something wrong.

Either buy the Recaro sliders, or make your own brackets? :shrugs:
Decent speed shop should be able to make them for you.

The bracket is fine, the sliders seem to be spaced to far apart once mounted to the seat. With so many apparently using this combo...what am I doing wrong?

What are they going to tell him? lol

Either sell the seat, and get a sparco seat, or sell the sliders and get a recaro slider.

Ok, thx for the responses, but it's not what I'm looking for.

I'd like to hear from someone that ACTUALLY have used this combo.

And since this is a project car, yes, I've had the seats and brackets sitting in boxes for 2 years.

So, if I understand this correctly, you have a Recaro seat and trying to mate it to Sparco sliders?

That's what I was given as "universal"..... including sparco mounting bracket. (ClubRSX)

I guess I'm up a creek. Since I haven't molested my sparco brackets yet, I guess I'll have to just sell it all and go with Wedge...****ing sucks.
