Picking these up today for my del sol. How can I tell if they're legit or not?

they look like my girls recaros in her mazda (and hers are fake) the recaro looks to big, and check the tags, and the font looks incorrect from the angle of the pic

Recaro speeds has the big recaro stitched on top.
and the recaro srds on ek/itr has the small recaro stitched on the bottom.

No, they are just FIA approved which means that in a car accident they will behave somewhat like OEM seats do.

Fake seats are never FIA approved.

Looking good doesn't matter as much to most people if they realize that their knock-off seats may well snap in half in an accident.

That said, the recaros look real in the picture. Definitely give them a good lookover and make sure the rails have "recaro" stamped into them and "Recaro" is on the seat back adjustment ****.

I picked them up. They were surprisingly real. I say surprisingly because the condition was great for 550, just a tiny tiny hole by the top harness area on the cloth. He was pointing out all of the areas that proves it was authentic. He was parting out with all his aftermarket parts to put back to stock so he could sell his vw.

Now im just stuck with finding rails and brackets x__x

Yeah, I know people who brag about money and would still go cheap on their car parts like getting those nrg srd replicas. I've sat in those and they feel AWFUL. Basically flimsy cardboard. It shouldn't even be legal to sell those. Im one to buy real and if I can't afford it, then don't buy at all.

I'm the same way.

That said, seats look legit to me. And judging by the car in the background I think you could safely assume the owner has money, therefore the seats are probably real.

But you can never know really till you look at them.
