Default Rebuilt d16z6 bogs at WOT...?

i just had a rebuilt shortblock installed in my hatch, and it runs real strong at part throttle all the way up til i hit wot. what could be causing this? could it be my fuel filter? timing? i just threw in new spark plugs, but the problem persists.

my mechanic thinks it could be either: 1) the block was built to hella tight specs-or-2) my shitty oil pump is causing it to run sluggishly. i dont think its either of these things because of how strong it pulls under part throttle conditions, so u guys be the judge.

any help would be appreciated, TIA!

Have you checked to see if your fuel filter is clogged?

it doesnt really jerk, it runs real smooth at part throttle, then when i go the extra 10mm on the throttle the engine sounds real deep but actually yeilds less power than when at 90% throttle... weird

another quick question: should the distributor be rotated more towards the front of the car or the firewall? cuz i cant tell if my ignition timing is off or if its this gay thin air im workin with (7000ft elev.)
lol
i plan on dialing my timing tomorrow but i just want a rough idea of how far off it may or may not be.

(12:24 PM 12/25/2006) WangChung: hey, would you be willing to sell me the cam out of that motor? if not, i can trade you a skunk2 stage1 cam straight up. i need to bring my car back to stock, my loss is your gain.
(3:02 PM 12/25/2006) Akiraboy: I'm interested, sure.
Where are you located?
(4:04 PM 12/25/2006) WangChung: im located in Az, so the only way this would work is if we each payed for overnight shipping, to reduce downtime. what do u think?
(4:18 PM 12/25/2006) Akiraboy: do you have pics of the cam? what condition is it in?
(4:51 PM 12/25/2006) WangChung: i dont have a camera, but the cam is in perfect working condition, i always run royal purple 5w30 so its been properly lubricated all its life.
(5:21 PM 12/25/2006) Akiraboy: ok, how do you want to do this? It has to be overnight?
(5:23 PM 12/25/2006) Akiraboy: If I get your address, I can send it out tommorow
(7:01 PM 12/25/2006) WangChung: chris emery

(10:27 PM 12/26/2006) WangChung: sounds good man, when i ship the skunk2, ill suply a tracking number as well.
(10:54 PM 12/26/2006) Akiraboy: ok lmk
