ok well my cars been sitting in the garage for about 2years now. It hasnt moved, its jacked up on stands but the motor is out and the Brake rotors are kinda rusted over. Its come to the time where im putting a new motor in it and changing out the Rotors and pads. Is there any other thing i have to look for or watch out for?
Oh yeah the time i remember that the gas tank had some gas in it, but i tried to pump some of it out the other day and theres NOTHING in it. Should i drop the tank and clean it or should i be good? While on this topic i was going to replace the fuel pump with a Warboro 255lhp. Sorry for being so long. i just need some info thats all thansk

Dude,
Unless your going turbo you dont need a 255lph fuel pump or youll be spending some extra dough on gas but it new rotors and pads are mosdef a good idea and get a new fuel filter, bleed your brakes and stuff like that. I know that most of the hondas ive revived have had old nasty brake fluid in them..GOOD LUCK

There's not necessarily a need to change the pads and rotors... They should clean themselves fairly quickly. You might want to bleed the lines some, but that's not really mandatory either.

Bleeding the brakes should be manditory b/c brake fluid loses its viscosity after a while and the you might as well be putting water in your brake res.

yeha but i fig since its down i should do it anyways. Also i do have a turbo so the 255lhp is a good thing for me.

besides, a walbro is alot cheaper than even an OEM fuel pump. and no you wont burn more gas. thats what you have fpr's computer's and precious injectors

Have a quick look under the car to make sure those steel brake lines haven't turned into rusty mush from the moisture. It happened to my uncle's Celica... bad news.

I think you should be more worried about the calipers being frozen or the brake lines being shitty and snapping. Like said above, the rotors will clean themselves off unless the **** is pitted.

yeha thats what im scared of. i couldnt move them with my hands. im going to try and put a wheel on there and then try it again.

if the engine has sat for 2 years, take a teaspoon or a cap full of oil (cap from a quart of oil) and dump it into each cylinder... with the plugs out of course. its gonna burn off, but it will help the unoiled rings from scaring up the cylinder walls
