What do you mean 'Your guessing your engine is fudged or blown'?
What do you mean 'on another note i want to replace a lot of stuff'

First figure out what is wrong, address the problem then move on to your maintenance.

You can buy another civic/teg for 2k. It shouldn't cost that much with all this stuff, but if it is, move on, sell it and buy something else

Headers+downpipe - Cheap header and have it mated to your existing exhaust dont use their gaskets, use OEM Honda manifold gasket ( multilayer or whatever, or just a metal orielys )
Suspension - Go to stock
new dizzy cap - sure
new stage 1 clutch - exedy stock clutch kit
new timing belt
head gasket set
rear control arms - ? what about them? NEW Ones?
crossed and drilled rotors front end -dont need, I hear you should go with Brembo Blanks and Hawk hp pads or whatever.
rear end disc brake conversion - dont need rear drums will last, they are lighter, probably fine, just keep the drum. Paint the outside if you want.
new cam gears - dont need them unless your changing timing
all new bushing kit - energy suspension ~$100 ? Looks hard to install them all, mainly rear control arm bushings
new ignition coil - Why
new fuel pump < $100 stock, walbro 255, whatever
NGK wires and NGK spark plugs check hondaautomotiveparts for sparkplugs
lightweight flywheel - whatever sure, do it when you put a new clutch in
skunk2 intake manifold -whatever, not sure why on this one
new oil pan and gasket oem gasket$80 from honda, pretty cheap for aftermarket one, pain to install
new O2 sensors x2 -Why are you replacing them?
rpm gauge - swap the cluster to one with a tach
There is my suggestions

looks like too much work to de-rice this thing, unless you plan on keeping it for a long time i would not waste my time.

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

yea my uncle put the kit and wing on the car i like the look but it needs to be cleaned up the tow truck almost tore the front end off lmao i was looking into the B series i had a b16 in my old hatchie was fast and decent on gas then i had a 4dr ex civic with d16 v tec and i think both are decent i can get a d15 in my area for about 250 rebuilt my friend puts it in for 400 even plus after i fix it up ill most likely sign it over to my wife and upgrade to somthing else she is not about speed she only likes looks lmao so light engine swap then touch up the kit the tint and paint the interior back black i should be good i was just wondering what else should i invest in partwise as well as cheaper engine because b series are common in my part bout 1,500:thud: for engine trans ecu mounts and all that so its a lil bit off my price range but good ideas im still thinking which is good on gas performance and cost =/

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

OK i decided im going with a d16y8 v tec fits straight into my car no extra changes and the engine only i can get for 400 with only 35,000 miles so that's 400 for engine and 400 for installation sounds like plan ty to everyone who gave their ideas and suggestions =D

do you think you could put it in.. its fairly easy. itll save you 400 and shouldnt take more than a day

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

I would give anything a swing but i live in apartment and they dont allow any work in parking lot so ide have to have it towed i would deff try to drop old engine out so maybe they charge less atleast but i ave no idea how ive done headers piping radiator altornator o2 sensor and other common maintenance on my cars but never swap lol

DELshaneSOL 09-22-2011 11:51 AM

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

so the 400 labor is to take the old one out as well as put the new one in?

p3anutboi 09-22-2011 11:52 AM

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

yup and i keep old engine so i can part out the good pieces =P

DELshaneSOL 09-22-2011 11:57 AM

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

yea if you could try and take the motor out at your apt some how, or maybe a friends. because you have to take the motor home somehow so why not just take it out at ur house than hauling it back after they take it out ya know

p3anutboi 09-22-2011 12:01 PM

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

good idea or maybe i could start parting the engine out now? lmao so there only the block and head left =P

DELshaneSOL 09-22-2011 12:23 PM

Re: Rebuilding engine! adding many new parts any suggestions??

yea and if they want the parts then they gotta it out them selves :o someone might even take the block for out free, just give it to them lol.
might be easyer to sell as whole, just tell them whats wrong.let them sit on the parts till they sell
