I youre not sure. Then dont do it. Its not the easiest thing to do as an everyday backyard mechanic. If youve gotta spare bad tranny laying around take it apart and study it. If youre still not comfortable, just buy a used tranny from a local seller or a junk yard. They arent that expensive.

its relatively easy, once you tare it down it makes sense as to how it works.

i didnt miss inform ppl, if you pay attention to the way it came out then you should be straight. the only thing you would really need a manual for is for specs. i guess its defferent since i have done it before and it kinda just all makes sense to me

I agree with you but different people have different experience levels. rebuilding a tranny is not a beginner level task. if i have to rate it would be a moderate-expert skill. If you have good memory and some common sense it wouldnt be bad but i wouldnt risk it. Get one from the junkyard or Craigslist.

sure you did. You told him its "relatively" easy. Someone learning about a transmission should watch someone do it before they attempt it for themselves.

I was thinking about doing this also, but I don't need a new tranny, and I'd basically be tearing one down to study and try to put it back together. If you are comfortable with this, you could make some dough having people bring you their tranny, and an LSD or shorter final drive, and you install it. I don't see many people here who can do that out of their garage. Sure there's a bunch of shops that would do it, but they'd charge you out the fart locker.
