Swapping a [healthy] D16Z6 for a B18B is absolutely retarded. You could turbo the **** out of the D16 with $2500 and whoop the asses of B18B EJ's.
And to answer your question, no, that's a terrible price.

basic going rate is 500-600+ the cost of the engine.
i charge 500 to uncrate and install.
i charge 600 to uncrate, repl, timming belt, adjust valves, check clutch,
replace any oil seals, change plugs and any other things necessary.
EF dx swaps are a little more because of the wiring. i never go over 700 on labor to install an engine.

probably not you might be able to find a complete ls motor for like 1200 and then 500 to install...kinda seems steep....
but if they are a good and reputable shop then you might be good...
an even better idea is to do the swap yourself...its not that hard and if you are somewhat competetant you can do it...just a little time, patience, 24 pack (in case u get frustrated), and a couple of friends should do the trick...

thanks for the "that is retarded post" but no the d16 has over 130000 miles and the b18 will be geting boosted later. And the 2500 is for me to drop my car at the shop and get it back with the new engine
