Rear whell bearing?
Hey guys, so im having trouble with my rear passenger wheel. The tire is wearing REALLY bad, typical camber wear but what worries me is the bumpiness. I don't think pitted would be the correct word, but when i rub my hand along the tire i can definitely feel points where its worn more. I googled it and they say its generally a bad wheel bearing. My question is what kinda price should i be expecting to pay to have the bearing replaced?

I wouldn't jump on a wheel bearing just yet. Jack that corner of the car up and grab the tire at a 12 and 6 and try to rock it, if you can feel play the bearing is bad. Also, with that corner of the car up in the air and the parking brake off give the wheel a good spin, see if it sounds rough, again another sign you need a wheel bearing. Uneven tire wear is probably more symptomatic of an alignment issue.

you could have a shifted or broken belt in that tire, or in need of an alignment. so yeah jack it up and shake it before you spend money where it may not be needed. also spin the wheel when its in the air, see if its smooth or rough if its rough then the bearing is bad but unless its loose it wont effect your tire wear.
