HEy so i got pulled over cuz my rear turn signal bulbs were white not red or orange, so i ordered some 1157 led red bulbs online, because someone told me it was 1157, but when i received my bulbs they didnt matchup....the original white is a wedge and the 1157 isnt...so whats the correct number for a rear turnsignal bulb on a 1998 civic ex?

pull yours out it will say it on it, just go to autozone or a parts store and buy one.

I like to dig up old threads instead of starting pointless new ones. I need to replace a rear signal bulb. I just got done at my local parts store and they don't carry one for my car. I have a '97 Acura 1.6EL, same as a Civic EX. The factory bulbs say "P21" or some bullshit on them, but the P21's on the shelf are completly different.

They are the same as 1157's, but the tabs don't line up. The tabs on the new bulbs are directly opposite each other, the tabs on my bulbs aren't. The only place to get them is the dealership, and that's bullshit. They want ******* $20 for two turn signal bulbs (they only sell them in pairs too.) My solution, I took the 1157's that I already bought from CT and used my dremel to shave down one of the tabs, then wedged it into the socket. Works great, where would I be without my dremel.

I wanted to know if the bulbs were the same way for 96-98 civics too.
