Default Rear Tranny Bracket Hell...

Hey guys well I decided to do a clutch myself in my stock 94 hatch and I was doing
pretty good till i hit the rear tranny mount. I got the top bolt off but the
bottom 2 wont break free. I don't have the best air tools just a 4 gallon 2 HP tank but it did the job when i did my swap in my coupe. I am trying to get at the bolts from the bottom but haven't had much luck. Anyone got any ideas??? I'm gonna pick up some WD-40 but don't think that is going to help much. I am using a 1/2 ratchet and 19mm 1/2 socket. No luck. Is there any other work around???

Try PB blaster this **** works magic. Just let it sit for a while. If that doesnt work try putting a jack under the tranny and lifting it alittle. If u took out the rest of the other bolts and the other mount then all the weight of the tranny is resting on the 2 back bolts.

1/2" drive breaker bar and 19 mm impact socket and if that doesn't work get a strong pipe and use that for extra leverage

I just loosened up the top engine mount did not remove completely. should i tighten it back up to remove pressure from the bolts?

I also removed the lower front passenger side tranny mount completely.

I am going to autozone and home depot ... gonna get a shorter pipe because the one i have is too long. I will look for the pb blaster and nut buster as well. I guess i am on the right track.

I will keep you guys updated. Just trying to save some bux. and do it myself.

Nothing wrong with working on your own car. Good luck, keep us posted.

take a jack with a pc of wood on the lifting part and lift up the tranny. You can also do the same for the motor. Just lift them like an inch or so. Just to get all the pressure off the mount then u should be able to pop them off.
